Overview
The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the funds coming into Union County. This includes local, state, and federal monies. The Treasurer’s Office processes the real estate taxes remitted by the municipal Tax collectors, they can also collect the county taxes for municipalities that do not have a tax collector. They also receipt the Clean and Green Tax revenue that comes into the county
The Treasurer’s Office collects the 5% Hotel Tax, a majority of which is turned over to the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau to promote tourism in our area. All Short-Term Rentals are required to register with the county, we will issue a certificate which must be visible in the establishment. This includes bed & breakfast, motel, hotels and homes rented less than 30 days.
The Treasurer’s Office sells hunting, fishing and dog licenses. We also issue Bingo and Games of Chance licenses.
Applications
Applications for dog licenses, bingo, games of chance and the hotel tax can be found on our website or you can obtain one through our office. If you are wanting to purchase a Game of Chance License, follow the instructions on the form and provide documentation required on page 2. If proper documentation is not included or the form is not filled out correctly a license will NOT be issued.
