SEDA-COG Regional Transportation Project List Public Meeting Announcement

Public invited to comment on regional transportation project listSEDA-COG to conduct public meeting; accept mail and e-mail comments 

From April 22 through May 23, 2022, the public is invited to review and comment on a draft list of priority transportation projects for Clinton, Columbia, Juniata, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties for the years 2023 through 2026. This four-year priority project list, known as the 2023-2026 Transportation Improvement Program, or TIP, was prepared by the region’s transportation planning agency, the SEDA-Council of Governments (SEDA-COG) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), in cooperation with state and local officials. The draft TIP includes 270 highway and bridge projects valued at $474 million that are expected to be undertaken over the next four years. 

The SEDA-COG MPO offers several options for public input: attend a public meeting with the opportunity to speak to regional planners in person, participate in the meeting virtually, or comment via the SEDA-COG website or by e-mail or U.S. Mail.

 Public Meeting: A public meeting will be held May 9 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Union County Government Center, 155 N. 15th St., Lewisburg. Regional transportation planners will share information about the draft 2023-2026 TIP and how it was prepared. The government center is accessible to people with disabilities. If accommodations related to language, sight, or hearing are needed for those with special needs, please contact the SEDA-COG MPO at 570-524-4491 by May 2.

Deadline: All comments on the draft TIP must be received by 4 p.m. on May 23 and must include the name and address of the commenter.

 The SEDA-COG MPO works with local governments, businesses, and nonprofits to establish the region’s transportation priorities. Priority highway, bridge, and transit projects for the next four-year period are detailed in the TIP and updated by SEDA-COG every two years in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and local and regional transportation stakeholders.
