It is the responsibility of the Office of the Public Defender to provide free legal representation for any person charged with a criminal matter or with contempt due to a failure to pay support in Union County, who for lack of funds is unable to afford an attorney.
To apply for services, you must complete an application which you may obtain by calling (570) 524-8780, clicking HERE or requesting by mail. All information must be completed and the application must be dated and signed. Please mail or submit in person your completed application and appropriate verifications. Once your application has been processed, you will be notified by letter as to whether your application is approved or denied.
