The formula to calculate real property tax is: Assessment x Millage Rate = Tax (face amount). The County Tax for a property with an assessed value of $100,000 and a rate of 4.163 mills would be calculated as follows:
100,000 X .004163 = $416.30 (face amount)
Note: 4.163 mills is equivalent to a millage of .004163. This is comparable to expressing percentage as whole number (5%) and as a decimal (.05). In the case of millage, the decimal is moved three places to left instead of two.
Millage rates are made available for the previous and the current year for the “COUNTY” of Union. Any use by an individual is at their own risk and the County of Union makes no representation or warranty to the information used by the individual.
